Johnson Reunion 2011

We were able to make it to Wyoming, well Idaho I guess, for the annual Ervon Johnson reunion. So glad we did because it was great. We got to try out our new camper and iron out the kinks before carrying on with the camping schedule this summer. It was so nice to have! We took turns cooking, played family fued, water balloon volleyball, and kickball, kids did scavenger hunts, rode horses, had rubber ducky races, fed the baby calf, ate, played in water, drove a mini john deere, 4-wheeled, and then passed out cold every night! A HUGE thanks to Tara and Cindy who put the whole carnival together. It was awesome! So good to see my family, including my super cute grandma! Love you all!

Thanksgiving...

So, Thanksgiving came and went so fast. Can't believe it! We spent a long weekend at my parents cabin. (To some, a cabin, to most of us, a lodge if you will.) It was a lot of fun, and very relaxing...as always.
We did stick to our guns and braved the cold weather and late hours to shop in Park City at the outlets. They opened at midnight and we went down early.
At 3, when we were all borderline delirious, but mostly tired, we hit the McD's for breakfast. Then back to the stores. This pic was taken around 4 am. Thank heavens for big sweatshirts. You can't really tell that I'm 6 1/2 months prego there. I feel it though.
At about 5:15, we braved the crowds at the PC Walmart. I don't know whose idea it was, or at that point, what the 'h' we were thinking...I personally will NEVER do that again. WOW!
I, being 36 and pregnant, went way overboard thinking that being on my feet all night would somehow be ok. It wasn't and hasn't been since. I'm a week away from my 7th month and having some pre-labor issues. I'm ordered off my feet after an hour or two. Which you think would be ok...but, I get a little stir crazy...my feet start bouncing and then I'm up wandering, pacing. I really am trying though. I'm a lot older than the first go round. My body is feeling this pregnancy REALLY thoroughly!
Anyway, all is well here at the Eerkes household. Dan put up lights today. No injuries to report. Thank heavens! It was a 5 to 6 hour adventure, or torture session to him. The house looks great though.
This is my favorite time of year!

Dan's fish...

So, per Dan's request, he asked me to post some of his recently caught fish on our blog. Fair enough, I get to blab about different things and post pics I want shown, so here you go babe! I thought that I'd make a Dan's fish section where we can post his latest conquests for all to see. He had a great day on the lower Provo Sunday. Even though the weather was crappy, and he got a little sicker, he had a great time. I passed up the opportunity, one, because of the weather, two, because I'm coming into my 6th month of pregnancy here and I'm not at all comfortable doing normal things anymore. Sitting, laying, or standing too long tends to get uncomfortable anymore. Plus, the fear of my waders not fitting (and they were BIG at one point) is another reason. I love that he has this hobby and that he can blow off some steam doing it.

IT'S A GIRL!!!

We just got back from the Fetal Studio. No boy parts there...she's all girl. She's a little mover to. Wouldn't hold still, but he got some great shots anyway. We're excited! My cute mom was with us and we went directly to Gymboree for some cute baby girl clothes. She's already set for a bit now. Funny that they know my mom in there pretty well!

August, birthdays, senior year, WSU, etc...

So...it's been a busy month and a half. I can't believe it's September already! Quick catch up on things. Dan's sister and her family came down for a visit in mid-August. They love this area so much they're thinking about moving down here.
Am turned 17 on August 18th. Dan had a birthday on the 27th, Matt (brother-in-law) on the 29th, so we had a combined shindig for them. Wow, wait...seventeen!! Doesn't seem that long ago that I was 17 and starting my senior year. My how time flies. Sniff, sniff...
Am started her senior year at Alta High School. She's excited, we're excited...and sad at the same time. Excited to see her mulling over her choices for after high school colleges. She'll probably do UVU or SLCC for a year or two afterwards, then off to....somewhere. This is where our first trip to Pullman, Washington comes in. We went up there the first weekend in September to see the Cougs play football. At least it was fabulous weather. Cougs lost to Cal 66 to (gulp) 3. Biggest loss in WSU history. Ouch!! By halftime, half the stands had emptied. It was sad, but we had a great time!
Dan hadn't been there for 15 years, so he got to see how time had changed the whole area.

Am and her friend at her very small bash!
Dan and Matt's cake. Melissa had it made. The boys loved it.
Martin stadium pre-game. Empty stands...looks close to this at half-time of the game.

Dan made us. Am was blushing. The two guys were super nice.

Dan's old frat house. The Phi Delta Gamma fraternity. Dan's picture is still inside with the 86-87 class. We did get to tour the inside. Definately full of boys!! I say boys, because they look too young to be in college! I can't believe how young college kids look now.

Dan worked here at one point during his 4 and a half year stint of living in this area. Still there, although we didn't go inside.
Dan's old dorm room. He lived on the top floor pre-frat house.

Future student???? I must say, I am definately the mother of a teenager girl. She wants to go to school up there because of all the 'hot' guys! She couldn't help but call her friend, Brit, who's equally boy crazy and tell her of all the guys!
All in all, I am excited for this page in Am's life. Just last night we ordered graduation announcements and the like for her. Again, doesn't seem that long ago that I was doing the same thing. Good thing for me, she's a much better kid, or young woman, than I ever was! Her looking at all the different things that she can do, and where she wants to go, just makes me more excited for her. I guess, I'm living vicariously through my child because of my lack of a true college experience. I'll definately be sad when she's off, but excited at the same time. My hope for her is that enjoys her life to the fullest taking every single opportunity that comes her way. Sometimes we have to push her, because of her, rarely seen, lack of confidence. She'll go far. Maybe med school....and I can retire early when she discovers the cure for cancer or something big like that. A mother can dream right???
With baby Festus on the way, we'll be starting over at 0 pretty soon. Uh, we may have to change the name Festus (which came from where??) if it's a girl. We find out tomorrow! Hopefully anyway.

Kenner Johnson

Here is the web page for updates on LaDee's son Kenner. If anyone needs a prayer, it's this little guy! He's proving to be one tough little fella!
This page is through Primary Children's Hospital and was set up by Talellah a few days ago.

Emerie...

Here are my twin nieces...Addison and Emerie. (Aren't they yummy??) Emerie (the one holding the empty bottle) is having surgery for a hernia on Tuesday. Scary stuff for the little one and the rest of us....but most of all her parents. I know what it feels like to hand your baby over to a surgeon at a very young age and trust that they will take care of them to the fullest. It is extremely emotional! Fortunately for us, we have a few guardian angels and Emerie being named after one of them (Emerie Ryan), we know that all will work out fine! Say a prayer for her when you get a chance!

Dan's homecoming...

Yes, he's home! It was an enjoyable first few days. Lots of sleeping in and lounging. Now it's back to the work grind. This picture was taken his first morning back. I was busy making banana walnut pancakes, one of his faves. It's such a relief to have him home!! They finished at around 110,000 pounds this year. Sounds good to me, but I think that Dan wanted to do more. We had our first ultra sound on Wednesday afternoon. Everything came out ok after our little 'scare'. We were able to see the baby's heartbeat and see that everything is normal. Dan was a bit taken back by the whole process and we both got a little emotional at the sight of our little 'bean'. Pretty exciting. I think that it finally sunk in at that point that I AM pregnant and we ARE going to have a baby. I tease Ambree that we'll have a newborn at her high school graduation next spring. Something a little wierd to think about. Welcome home babe!! I love you more than words can even begin to say. Every single minute spent with you is the most fabulous minute of my life!

Dan and I at Grand America... 6/14/08

Pretty cute...
(Clothing provided entirely by Buckle. Thanks Rob!) Our last little 'outing' before Dan's 5 weeks in Alaska. Obviously, the last 'outing' turned into quite a suprise... see next post!

Baby Eerkes countdown

So after 8, yes eight, positive pregnancy tests...we are proud to announce that we are having a baby. It will probably sink in more when Dan gets home. Only 12 days to go! We are suprised, but excited. I, on the other hand, am feeling like a water balloon. One hard poke, and I may burst. Even my allergies have gotten worse. I thought that maybe I had strep, but tests confirm that I do not. (Thanks heavens!) Just swollen glands... I will take bookoo swelling over being sick (knock on wood). Dan had to find out somewhere in Bristol Bay in line to tender the fish. He is extremely excited, and even more ready to come home! We can't wait either.

Due on or around March 6th, 2008.

Lumpy update...

7/21/08
Only 1 more day!!! I don't think that I've ever been so excited to see someone in my entire life. It's like being a little kid at Christmas again. It's been a few days since I updated... They finished the season at about 104,000 lbs. Not as good as Dan wanted, but still good. (I think...) He's got laryngitis, (does he yell up there?) and couldn't talk very loud earlier. They finished putting the boat away for the year and are eagerly awaiting their last night in Naknek. Let's all hope for on time flights, no crowding, and, at 9:50 pm tomorrow night, my handsome baby walking off that plane!! No phone calls for a week please! Soldier's Kiss
7/12/08
Ronnie, I promise to keep this updated!
Only 10 days left! We really are on the downside. As of this AM... they boys had gotten 12 , yes 12 hours of much needed sleep. Dan was just waking up and new guy was making breakfast. They're switching river's today. Only a few more days of fishing, so they hope to net a lot! He's got a lot of pics and videos so watch for slideshows when he gets home.

7/10/08
Only 12 days left. The boys are just over 90k pounds. The final countdown is on...

7/8/08
Lumpy is Dan's nickname during fishing season. Not his favorite, but it stuck. As of yesterday, he was at about 80,000 lbs of salmon. He's tired, achy, and homesick. Only 2 more weeks! YEAH!!!

Webfetti.com

I won't be outdone!

After watching Robyn turn her blog into something that includes more than pics and one sentence (yes boring...) I've decided to take on this blogging thing and see what I can do.
So far my butt is sore from sitting so long just figuring out just the background! If this is the last post you read, know I tried, but ultimately gave up from pure frustration. If this is NOT the top blog on my page...I figured it out, somehow, (except for the slideshow thingy...yet anyway!) and am taking my own personal challenge to make my page 'way cooler' than Rob's! Oh yeah...
We'll see, she has a LOT more patience than I.
